Principal's Welcome
Principal Jim Sheerin
We are glad to report that our school continues to grow from strength to strength with record numbers of pupils entering both Year 8 and transferring to us from other schools to commence 6th Form. We are delighted this year with both our A-Level examination results, which were our best ever and our excellent GCSE results.

Lisnagarvey High School is an all ability comprehensive school situated in the centre of Lisburn. The school occupies an attractive 11 acre site and has a roll of 634 pupils and 50 teaching staff. Our newly refurbished and extended accommodation provides an excellent learning environment for our pupils.

At Lisnagarvey, we are focused on developing the whole child and provide many opportunities for young people to achieve success. Through high quality learning and teaching from our committed and caring staff we provide a supportive and challenging educational experience. We have a strong record of academic achievement and provide a wide curriculum to meet the range of pupils’ needs while our programme of extra-curricular activities, trips and other events enhance learning and develop a range of skills including team-work, self-confidence and leadership.

Our shared values of mutual respect between staff and pupils, high expectations of success within a caring and supportive environment form the basis of our positive school ethos. Within our wider school community, we promote tolerance and understanding of one another and value diversity.

In ensuring your child is happy and successful at Lisnagarvey, we recognise the importance of strong partnerships with parents. All parents are welcome to contact the school at any time to discuss your child and I invite you to further strengthen our partnership through your involvement in our Parent Teacher Association.

We are proud of the many achievements of our pupils and I assure you of our commitment to make the school of our pupils challenging, successful and happy.

I hope you enjoy our website and it gives you a sense of our values, commitment and enthusiasm.
